I wanted to experiment with crocheting socks lately and this is what I came up with. They’re made out of 100% wool and I couldn’t be more happy.

I’m seriously so impressed…

SadDaysCrochet created this awesome Dwarven Helm as a present for her brother.
“The helm I based directly on the helm that Gimli wears in the Lord of the Rings movies, the beard was my own design with massive creative input from my brother. Helm has a lovely fleece interior and beard attaches and detaches with large snaps. The rest is mithril.”

Rocking the headband one of my friends made for me. I love how the simplest item can be so freakin’ cute. Love love love.

Some hats I made for my little sissy, and a turtle I painted on a note card. Hurray.

What’s inspiring me today: PBS’s ‘Craft in America’ series. Originally I began to watch this series based off the fact that I was bored and needed something new to watch on TV, but once I watched the first episode I was hooked! Not only do these episodes explore different crafts in America, but they really delve into the beauty in the people who are creating them. If you are any kind of craftsman (or woman for that matter) like I am, I would highly recommend checking this series out at the PBS website. Working with your hands to create beauty is an art form that should not and cannot be forgotten. This series does a beautiful way of reminding me that I am not alone in my longing to create, and that it’s an important part of my community/world to do so. Check it out! http://video.pbs.org/program/craft-in-america/
