Finished my new quilt! I challenged myself to make it for under $50 and totally met the challenge! The fabric for the squares I bought mostly at thrift stores and the remainder I bought at a local fabric store. The backing is a sheet I bought at Ross. Love making beautiful things out of nothing!

Cream Crochet Swing Dress

I really really want to make a crocheted skirt. Kind of a hybrid between the pictures above (ish). I could design it…but, since it would be my first time I’m also open for at least semi-using patterns already out there. I’m thinking about making a white one that’s tiered. Help??

Meet Victoria! This bunny was inspired by a comment that I saw on a yarn forum asking what to do with extra balls of yarn left over from old projects. Well, here you go. Every part of Victoria was made out of old balls of yarns I had left over from other projects I’ve had. The body type is the same as one of my last designs Louie (who’s in some of the pics with her).

Stuffed animals are actually really great for using up old balls of yarn because you can tuck all the extra lose ends in and no one will ever know!

NYTimes

The clicking of the wooden needles, the soft yarn spilling onto my lap, the rhythm of repeating stitches helped to soothe my broken heart.

Who doesn’t like Christmas presents two weeks late? Well, that’s what this baby’s gonna be. It’s a headwrap I made for my sister…but since I’m mailing it to her I’m modeling it. She has red hair so I thought this green would look amazing on her. And I kept the flower simple because, unlike me, she’s not in to blinging it out with her accessories.

So the story about this beanie is I guess what some would call “cute”. I designed it with a specific friend in mind, but I didn’t have the guts to give it to him. So, I took it to a white elephant gift exchange I knew he’d be at. To make a long story short, after a few “steals” and halfway through the game he ended up with the beanie. My roommates have deemed me the person with the most roundabout way of giving a Christmas gift. I see it as being the most roundabout way of accomplishing a great success.

The monkey I made to regain sanity after graduation. I named him Louie after the orangatang in “Jungle Book”. The Elephant came post monkey when my roommate asked me if I wanted to design her an elephant. So, starting with just a sketch and a color I designed her this one. Currently it is unnamed.

So this is a variation off of the licorice sweater that I made…just minus the sleeves.
